Staff-Biographical Information:

Kate Marshall Chase, MS, CMT, Director of Massage since 1983, is a co-owner of the Center for Well-Being. Kate integrates her training in Yoga, natural foods cooking and athletics to assist her clients through her use of deep tissue and shiatsu massage. Kate is an avid cyclist and nature lover!

Dean Lerner, MS, is a co-owner of the Center for Well-Being and began practicing yoga in the mid-1970's and teaching since 1980. He is an Advanced Jr Certified Iyengar Yoga instructor and studied numerous times in India with B.K.S. Iyengar. Dean served four years as president of the Iyengar Yoga National Association of the United States and teaches at the Center and workshops nationally.

Donna Richards, Office Manager Extraordinaire

Rebecca Lerner: co-director of the Center and an Intermediate junior III Certified Iyengar Yoga Instructor, has been practicing and teaching yoga since the 1970's. Rebecca has studied four times in India with Shri B.K.S. Iyengar.  In addition to public classes at the Center, Rebecca conducts private yoga therapy sessions giving students individualized yoga programs to suit their personal needs.  Rebecca has been the resident yoga teacher at the State College Friends School (k-8) since 1992.  Rebecca is also a professionally trained Bradley Method® Natural Childbirth educator.

Doris Rogalla, BA, CMT, has been practicing massage for over 12 years. Doris provides a very relaxing massage, combining deep tissue work with Swedish Massage and Reflexology. Her additional training includes Cranio-Sacral and Lymph Drainage Therapy. She considers Reiki Energywork her lifelong pursuit. Doris loves music from classical to country, dancing, singing and reading.

Leigh Herbert, MS, brings extensive experience in counseling and the healing arts to her work. She has worked as a psychotherapist for over fifteen years and holds a Masters Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. Leigh is also a graduate of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. She specializes in Brennan Healing Science for psychological and physical wellness.

Jean Sanders, an art professor at PSU, has been studying Yoga with Dean and Rebecca and with other senior teachers as well, since 1993. She began teaching yoga in 1995. Jean is known as a very competent, generous, and caring teacher..

Jenny Hwozdek, Cerified Homeopathic Consultant is a graduate of the Pacific Academy of Homeopathy in San Francisco. Her practice of Homeopathy is supported by her extensive experience in natural health care. This includes studying with herbalists in the Pacific Northwest as well as working in herbal/naturopathic pharmacies for 5 years. Her background also includes serious study of flower essences, nutrition, and holistic animal care. Jenny is pleased to return to her hometown to establish her practice.
